What's Happening at Mary's Place
Our weekday program for homeless and formerly homeless
women and children is now open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00
p.m. Mary's Place is meant to be a welcoming and safe environment where
women and children can build community, enrich their days, and find
resources to improve their lives.

Worship Services
Worship Services are held every Saturday morning at Denny Place Center,
210 Dexter Avenue North.
Our day begins with a light breakfast at 10 a.m. Choir
practice is next, followed by an hour of spirited singing for everyone.
Music and movement help lift the spirits of women burdened by the hard
conditions of their lives.
The 11:30 a.m. worship service is relaxed and welcoming. It
includes scripture readings, spontaneous prayer, and a rite of healing. A
dialog between preacher and congregation replaces the traditional sermon,
giving the women a chance to interpret scripture from the perspective of
their own lives.

How to Help
Daytime volunteers are welcome Monday through Saturday.
You could be a mentor, teach a craft, lead a class, or donate professional
services. We welcome in-kind donations of items like underwear, travel-size
toiletries, deodorant, backpacks, and Metro bus tickets.

Women of Mary's Place
Sixteen Northwest artists were introduced to sixteen
homeless and formerly homeless women from Mary's Place. Each artist had the
privilege of listening to the stories of hope and courage in the face of
daily challenges, and then creating a portrait for one of these
women. Visit The Women of Mary's Place and find out more!
